Onboard today for Memorial Day weekend. Below are some photos from the last several weekends showing the gang working on our newest project, trying to put a shine on the ships capstans and wildcats. They've never been touched for as long as I've been a volunteer and they were really cruddy. The last three photos are of the USS Iowa passing below the Golden Gate Bridge under tow to her new home, which also occurred today. She will open to the public in early July. |
