Overnight Encampment - Your family can
experience life in the Navy - for at least one night! A special family*
overnight encampment has been added. Now families can enjoy dinner
and breakfast served from the crew's galley, tour the Battleship, ride
the Flight Simulator and sleep in the same bunks the crew of the USS New
Jersey once did. Also, on Fridays in August, encampment guests
will enjoy fireworks over the Delaware at 9:15 pm! The price is $50.95 per person. To reserve

Victory Day aboard the Battleship New Jersey - The Battleship
New Jersey Museum and Memorial will celebrate the 65th Anniversary of
the End of World War II with a special WWII Victory Day. A Dance
and BBQ will take place on the ship's fantail during the evening, while
the day will feature WWII military vehicles, a re-enactment of the
surrender of the Japanese, and more! The WWII Victory Day Dance
and BBQ will be held from 5 pm to 9 pm on the fantail. This event
will feature an Andrews Sisters performance by the Romano Sisters, a
swing quartet and will be emceed by a 1940's-era disc jockey. A bugler
from "Buglers Across America" will also play TAPS atop Turret
3 at 1900 hours (7 pm) as part of a nationwide effort to perform TAPS in
every time zone. Guests will also enjoy a delicious barbecue meal, a
cash bar, dancing and a main deck tour of the ship. Tickets are $24.00
per person and are available by calling (866) 877-6262 ext. 107.
During
the day, the Battleship will come to life. A re-enactment of the
Japanese surrender aboard USS Missouri, complete with Gen. Douglas
MacArthur, will take place aboard the Battleship at 1 pm. Guests
visiting the ship will also be able to experience WWII military vehicles
on the pier, meet members of the Tuskegee Airmen from noon to 3 pm, and
check out special WWII artifacts on display in the ship's
wardroom. Guests may experience all of these activities with any
tour ticket for the Battleship. WWII Victory Day is part of a
nationwide effort by the Spirit of '45 to remember our country's
